 The Michigan AfterSchool Association (MAA) is the state affilate of the National AfterSchool Association (NAA), whose mission is to build a profession that develops, supports, and promotes quality after-school programs for children and youth. 

MAA is a professional membership organization representing the entire array of public, private, and community-based providers of before- and after-school programs.

          Michigan AfterSchool Association Collaborative Summer Summit

The Michigan AfterSchool Association Collaborative Summer Summit was held on May 11, 2012 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.  The goal of the summer summit is to provide participants with a format to discuss current information regarding research studies, collaborative planning, teaching strategies, ideas and techniques, and to affirm the importance of establishing a rich, supportive environment and high-quality services for school-age children and youth, and their families.

    Michigan AfterSchool Association Professional Development Scholarship

 MAA offers scholarships for the reimbursement of approved professional development. Apply to receive an 80% reimbursement for the MAC Collaborative Conference. Questions about the MAA Professional Development Scholarship may be directed to: scholarships@miafterschool.com.

MAA has created a new resource for the field of after-school called Dear Mi SAYDI. MiSAYDI stands for Michigan School-Age/Youth Development Information.  This is an advice and information column.  After-school providers can e-mail questions related to anything in the after-school, youth development, and school-age fields.  Answers will be posted to the MAA
